LESSON for April 16, 2021 – “THE CLOWN who would be KING!”

(Part Two: “A VACANCY APPEARS”)

Prince Philip of the U.K. died peacefully on Thursday night two months short of his 100th birthday, leaving heavy hearts in London and much of the world… and a hole in the British Royal Family and, indeed, royalty everywhere.

This and other developments have caused the Don to revisit and update our Lesson of just three weeks ago – enhancing our argument that the best way to deal with former President Donald Trump  would be to amend the U.S. Constitution and elevate him to the position of Constitutional Monarch, to rule for the rest of his natural life (unless and until overtaken by physical or mental incapacity) and to pass said post of privilege to his progeny… a simple, yet effective, manner of best utilizing Mister Trump’s prodigious capacities as a showman and sponsor of spectacles while walling off the country from his obvious incapacity for actual leadership as regards the political, economic, medical, moral and intellectual realms.

We’re delaying final draft here so as to respect (and analyze) Saturday’s funeral and reactions to it from the talking class.   All the Index stats remain intact.

As elucidated in said Lesson, such a circus-cum-circumcision of the 45th President should appeal not only to the vast majority of American patriots, concerned about the damage to democracy done by Trump and perhaps fearful of a further slide into abject totalitarianism should he, as all-but-promised in his post-Presidential tweets and twitters (and, after those avenues of free speech were blocked off to him, more of his maskless MAGA rallies and public speeches) run again in 2024 and win.  Republican should be especially supportive of King Donald I if he does gain the nomination and, as is far more likely, suffers a catastrophic repudiation in November… a defeat of Goldwaterian proportions that will drag the rest of the ticket… from the Senators, Congressmen and Governors facing the voters in only thirty-one months all the way down through state and local officialdom to the Commissioners of Sewers and Poultry Inspectors coast to coast… into those selfsame sewers and chicken coops, probably never to recover.

In that instance, we’d have a country that is the mirror-image of (and no less despicable than) Trumpworld… a weakened neo-Socialist dystopia of unaddressed debt, economic stagflation and an Orwellian cancel culture of spinster librarian types armed with AK-87s and golden rulers with which to slap down any expression of human life, liberty or pursuit of happiness; a despairing dungeon of self-righteous posturing and preening abandoning any real hope of economic, environmental or enlightened justice in favor of a veneration of victimhood and vitiation that will… as noted in Jack Parnell’s “Entropy and Renaissance”… draw conquerors (whether Russians or Chinese, Iranians, Italians or those damnable Dutch, Danes or stateless, stainless steel dacoits) to feast on the rotten entrails of the American Dream like the crows and the buzzards and hyenas who haunt our highways and byways in search of roadkill,

Some choice!

Fortunately, 45 is a creature of whimsy and will and animal instincts... easily distracted by dangling something shiny and tingly and jingly before his nose… a near-opposite of Prince Philip.

(We’ll delay rollout of this Lesson until Saturday, after the funeral orators have had their say.  There won’t be much at the service, with only thirty attendees, but the talking heads and tabloid terrors will have plenty to say over the weekend.)  All other statistical elements of the Index will cover the week through Friday.

Note, too, that it has been one year since the plague caused the stock market, employment, the Federal budget and Don Jones’ family fortunes to capsize, whether or not anybody in the family got sick or died (in which case the consequences were even worse.  45 has declared, quite regally, that he was the sole cause of the bounceback while 46 prefers to give credit to the vaccinators and the frontline medical professionals, first responders, aid and relief charities and millions more.

Not to inflict a bug on or inside the ear of President Joe, but turning over the ceremonial details of the proposed July 4th re-opening to Djonald Untamed might be a good way of testing the appropriateness of King Donald.  Trump does hoopla, ballyhoo too and, with balloons, monkeys and the Village People; with his reputation as a showman on trial, the ex-Pres should bring back the qualities that made his rallies so… well, interesting… and maybe even repair his reputation somewhat (so long as masks and vaxxes are encouraged by wiser heads, guns and nooses discouraged).

See the original Lesson here.  Within the last three weeks, we have also added attachments proving A) Donald Trump’s unfitness for the Presidency, B) Fitness for a Constitutional Monarchy as would showcase his ceremonial and showmanship talents but keep him far, far away from policy decisions, or C) Both.

Prince Philip of England (the royal consort) dies two months before his 100th birthday.  Bells toll 99 times in London and a friend whispers: “She wore the crown, but he wore the pants” in the family.  The funeral is immediately clouded by what to do about Meghan and Harry.

Prince (the singer) schemes to release more posthumous tracks from his vault in Minneapolis – where the Derek Chauvin/George Floyd trial features a medical examiner who says that Floyd’s drug use and heart use contributed to his death, but the policeman’s knee on his throat caused it.

NFL retiree and presumed concussion victim Philip Adams kills his doctor, the doctor’s wife and two grandchildren and an air-conditioning repairman in the wrong place (Rock Hill, South Carolina) at the wrong time.  President Joe calls gun violence “an international embarrassment”.

75K new cases of plague for the second day in a row – youth sports now blamed.  62M additional doses of J&J from the Baltimore vax factory deemed contaminated and discarded.

Volcano erupts on St. Vincent in Caribbean – haughty cruise ships refuse to take on unvaccinated passengers (most of the island’s black population), four of the large vessels claim that the requirements are the fault of local government.

Democrats conspire in boardrooms and cloakrooms, discuss packing the Supreme Court or imposing term limits on the Republican justices (or both).  President Joe sends his 1.5T “normal” budget request to Congress; this atop his 2T infrastructure tax and spend legislation, both atop the 1.9 Stim Three package already passed on a party line vote.  The disloyal opposition proposes spending even more on beefing up the military.

Republiciana dismayed and distracted by the adventures of Matt (“Lolita”) Gaetz (R-Fl.) – some start calling for his resignation as partner in juvenile frolix, Florida State Tax Collector. Joel Greenburg, is said to be cutting a deal with the Feds to rat Matt out.  The angry pedophile declaims: “I’m built for the battle and I’m not going anywhere.”

Georgia joins Colorado and North Carolina in shutting down potentially lethal J&J vaxxatory centers out of “an abundance of caution.”  (6 women contract blood clots from 70M doses – one dies.)  Ga. Governor Kemp, still fuming over MLB yanking the all-star game from Atlanta, holds a press conference and announces that the pecan is now the official state nut.  Mr. Peanut is outraged at being upstaged.  “What about me?” asks Marjorie Taylor-Greene, the Congresswoman from Q-Anon?

President Joe already watering down his gun law proposals after tough talk (America needs “less prayers, more action”).  Second shot air-conditioning repairman dies in Rock Hill

Red states are passing pre-emptive legislation prohibiting mandatory vaccine passports for a number of occasions such as going to college at Rutgers, Duke or Brown.  “You have a right to live your life,” the Governors say.  The Doctors reply: “You have a right to do what you want to yourself, but not to others.”  Michigan screams: positivity rate is up to 30% and begs for more Federal doses as the South African Variant breaks through Pfizer-vaxxed Americans, the now-dominant U.K. variant targets kids and “long haulers” and criminals hop on the bandwagon and start churning out fake vaxx cards.  Sec. Blinken goes on TV and waffles on the legality of patenting vaccinations.

Prince Philip’s funeral set for 4/20 in Buckingham Palace.  Only thirty mourners will be admitted – mostly from the Royal Family.  Harry says he will attend, but pregnant Meghan will stay behind… he says that he and older brother (and heir apparent) William “are on different paths.)

Uniformed officer pulled over by Virginia cops for having his new car temporary cardboard license in the rear window, not on the back plate tells them “I’m afraid to get out of my car.”  “You should be!” say the cops before dragging him out and pepper-spraying him.  (He’s… duh!... black.)

Another black motorist is murdered in Minnesota for having air fresheners dangling from his rear view mirror.  26 year veteran Kim Potter (a white female leading a training mission training new officers how to deal with drivers of color) says she mistook her gun for a taser.  Oops!  Ten miles away, at the resumed Derek Chauvin trial, George Floyd’s brother testifies that he large person of color was “a big mama’s boy” who called out for Mother as he was being strangled.

Former House Speaker John Boehner (R-Oh.) calls out Republican colleagues like Jim Jordan (R-Oh) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Cancun), calls Washington “Crazytown” and asserts that, these days, Ronald Reagan would be considered a liberal.  (No, he wouldn’t! – DJI)

After another day of 70K new cases, the CDC tells Michigan to stop whining and “shut things down” to stop (or, at least, slow) the spread.

Martin Truex wins NASCAR race at… Lake Martin.  Diversity, at least, spreads through the culture… Hideki Matsuyama wins the Masters, becoming the first Asian in a green jacket, “Nomadland” wins British Film Awards for Chinese-American female director and, President Joe appoints the first female ArmySec Christine Wormuth.  (But two more movie theater chains go broke.)

Happy Ramadan!  President Joe promises he will pull all American troops out of Afghanistan by September 11th, the 20th anniversary of Osama’s terror.

CDC and FDA redlight J&J shots out of “an abundance of caution” – sending wannabee vaxxees into a frenzy of rescheduling scarce, cancelled appointments; critics call it fear of “an abundance of lawyers.” Governors say they are “beyond frustrated” over continuing shutdowns; warn “scared” people might turn to strange religions and violent beliefs… Minneapolis judge claims sequestration will “frighten” Chauvin/Floyd jurors and the first defense witness tell them that strangulation is an appropriate “use of force”.  Outside, Floyd family lawyer Benjamin Crump hustles off to sign up family of Daunte Wright, whose oops-killing sparks another night of rioting and looting.

Retired talk show host Jon Stewart lobbies for veterans and against the regulations causing them to have to pay out-of-pocket for medical care, says that the Afghan “burn pits” with warnings printed in Arabic were “giant dumpster fires emitting toxic fumes” that caused cancers like that which killed Beau Biden.

“The Talk” returns, but without Sharon.

America shudders: one dead, five more blood clotted out of 7M J&J vaxxes.  CDC says shootings are on schedule, just that some expecting one-shot wonders have to reschedule for two-shot Pfizer and Moderna, companies that J&J spokespersons say are just as deadly.

Chauvin defense calls six witnesses to allege George Floyd died of drugs or a theory – of carbon monoxide poisoning incurred because his mouth was next to the car tailpipe.  After third night of rioting, Brooklyn Park Mayor (black) rejects Oops Cop Kim Potter’s resignation, prefers she be officially fired.  Then, Potter is indicted for second degree manslaughter.

America swoons: tell-all ex-bachelor Colton Underwood says the reason his choice of bride eventually filed a restraining order against him is because he’s gay (performance restraint?). “I got into a place that was dark and bad.”  (But, sooner or later, a cable network like E! or Bravo will start up a Gay Bachelor/Bachelorette contest – DJI).  Hoping for re-legalization of Broadway glitz and glamour, Hamilton’s Lin Manuel Miranda says: “we want to tell stories in the dark again.”

Bungled J&J vaxx buggles up injection section – Dr. Fauci says it’s going to take “days to weeks” to fix it, as opposed to “weeks to months”.  Vaxxing troubles, spring breakers and mask fatigue make for a 31% jump in new cases last month/ CDC notes that women with blood clots had pre-existing conditions.  What a relief!  At least we’re not Brazil where the healthcare system is collapsing.

Former Vice President/neckwear connoisseur Mike Pence gets it… a pacemaker for his jittery heart after being rescued from hanging.

Cop kills another black 13-year-old ten miles from Chauvin trial where the Judge pivots and orders jurors sequestered, whether it frightens them or not.  Potter/Wright case finds there to have been 13 gun/taser screw-ups but only two convictions.

Snitch-ee Joel Greenburg tells authorities that he and Rep. Matt (Creepy) Gaetz hosted stripper parties in Orlando with code words for edibles like “ice cream” and “salad” replacing the usual obscenities.  And 30K investors cheer as Bernie Madoff dies in prison (authorities have recovered 14M of the 17M he stole.)

The two great elements of American economics (unemployment and inflation, aka the “Misery Index”) went head to head this week – and it was no contest.

A modest dip in unemployment and the continuing good health of the stock market provided the cheers.  They were outshouted, unfortunately, by the jeers… another whopping increase in the price of gasoline at the pump (and, in fact, all carbon-based fuel stocks).  Perhaps the ecologists and climatologists… Prince Philip was an early exponent of these… may step in and correct the imbalance wrought upon the West, admittedly, by circumstances human (profit-seeking by Mideast shiehks) and environmental (the Texas freeze that blew out refineries and the Gulf storms that hindered extraction).

Still – a warning.

This is why the Queen sat on her own during Philip's funeral

By Lauren Said-Moorhouse and Amy Woodyatt, CNN

Updated 3:35 PM ET, Sun April 18, 2021

(CNN)The royal family adhered strictly to UK Covid-19 regulations during the funeral of Prince Philip, who was laid to rest Saturday. As such, the Queen sat alone during the service to follow current restrictions.

All guests who are not members of the same household were required to sit around 2 meters apart.

The Queen and the late Prince Philip had been in a bubble with some members of their household for the last year and so the monarch was not eligible to join a support bubble with other members of her family.

The Queen and Philip had been married for 73 years, and the prince, who died last Friday at the age of 99, was the nation's longest-serving consort -- the name used to describe the spouse of a reigning monarch.

The Duke of Sussex and Duke of Cambridge sat opposite one another in St. George's Chapel, with William sat beside his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, during the service. Prince Harry also sat alone.

The Queen and the late Prince Philip had been in a bubble with some members of their household for the last year and so the monarch was not eligible to join a support bubble with other members of her family.

The ceremony started in St. George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle at 3:00 p.m. (10 a.m. ET).

While the service was a muted affair, by royal standards, Philip was intimately involved in its planning, selecting the music and ensuring the ceremony reflects his military affiliations and personal interests. Some 30 people made up the congregation at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral service as the memorial service has had to be stripped back in light of the pandemic.

Though the UK government has set out a roadmap out of lockdown in England, restrictions remain for funeral services across the country, with a maximum of 30 people allowed to attend. Over the past year, the virus has robbed countless families in the country of the chance to properly grieve, with funerals limited to small numbers of socially distanced mourners to reduce the risk of coronavirus spreading.

More than 127,400 people have died of Covid-19 in the United Kingdom, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.

PRINCE PHILIP SALUTE, GOP CAMPAIGN PARTY, ST. VINCENT AID: 5 THINGS TO KNOW THIS WEEKEND

Editors – USA TODAY

(A) DONALD TRUMP WEEKEND: GOP PRESIDENTIAL RACE STOPS IN FLORIDA

Republicans are throwing an early presidential campaign party this weekend in South Florida, though the featured guest remains the same party representative from the last two campaigns: Donald Trump. The former president and other Republicans said to be considering a 2024 White House bid will be mingling with some of the party's biggest financial donors at a "spring retreat" in Palm Beach. "If you're looking at running for president, you're going to be there,” said GOP political strategist Doug Heye. Trump is even hosting one of the events, a dinner Saturday night at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

(B)  REPUBLICAN UNITY? NOT SO MUCH. DONALD TRUMP GOES OFF-SCRIPT, HITS MCCONNELL, PENCE, OTHERS

David Jackson – USA TODAY

·

PALM BEACH, Fla. – While keynoting a weekend conference devoted to Republican unity, Donald Trump braced wealthy party donors with scathing attacks on GOP stalwarts like Mitch McConnell, Mike Pence and others.

Trump again called McConnell "a loser" during his Saturday night speech to the Republican National Committee spring retreat, and criticized Pence – his former vice president – for not backing efforts to overturn his election loss to President Joe Biden, according to people in the room.

The ex-president also echoed plans to endorse allies and target enemies in GOP primaries next year, threatening more party divisions ahead of the 2022 congressional elections. Still, Trump told the party's richest donors they should pursue his agenda in future elections.

"Our American First platform will lead the Republican Party back to power," Trump said, according to a text of the speech.

Trump's speech capped the RNC's weekend "spring retreat," a get-together devoted mostly to the idea of Republican unity – a challenging topic given Trump's attacks on certain party members.

In addition to private discussions all over the Four Seasons beach resort, Republican lawmakers and donors held panel discussions Saturday on campaign plans, prior to departing for Mar-a-Lago and the Trump-hosted dinner. On Sunday, the Republican retreat attendees headed home.

The RNC closed all retreat activities to the press, including a Saturday event called the "Party Unity Panel."

(C) THE 2024 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY COMES TO TRUMP'S DOORSTEP THIS WEEKEND IN FLORIDA

David Jackson - USA TODAY

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Republicans are throwing an early presidential campaign party this weekend in South Florida, though the featured guest remains the same: Donald Trump.

At least a half-dozen Republicans said to be considering 2024 presidential bids, including Trump, are among the "special guests" at a Republican National Committee "spring retreat" on the Palm Beach shore.

The GOP aspirants will be mingling with some of the party's biggest financial donors as they plan for elections in 2022 and 2024. "Only current Republican National Committee investors will be eligible to attend," said an invitation to the Friday-through-Sunday event.

"This is a conclave of Republican finance influencers," said GOP political strategist Doug Heye. "If you're looking at running for president, you're going to be there."

So much of the Republican Party's future revolves around Trump and whether he will run again in 2024 – and whether his campaigning for conservative allies in 2022 congressional and state elections will split the party.

The former president is even hosting one of the events at this weekend's retreat, a Saturday night dinner at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Other retreat activities will take place at the Four Seasons resort hotel, about four miles south of Mar-a-Lago.
